These bees just figured out a trick no one taught them

Saw this new study out of Finland where bumble bees got dropped into a setup with a foam ball and a sugar reward stuck up high they couldn't reach normally. Without any practice or watching others, a bunch of them rolled that ball right underneath and climbed up to get the treat. (Tiny brains pulling off something that looks a lot like the old chimp box test.)

It makes you wonder how much else these little guys are sorting out on their own out there in the fields. The researchers were pretty surprised it wasn't just random flailing or copied behavior.
